Handmade Marketplaces---

88% of brides in 2011 say that they have purchased something handmade from an online entity for their wedding!  98% say that they have looked online for ideas if they have not purchased.  HUGE!  That is absolutely huge! There are several online presences that collate handmade items from talented hands around the globe, they offer no membership fees, they're open 24/7 with new products available just about every second in a zillion categories.

These products are shaping our world, not just the wedding world.

The photo above is just a sampling of Etsy the number 1 source for online shopping, it has become the active verb===== and the term found it on Etsy is universally understood!

The "vintage" category remains our favorite (and haunted daily) category. With lovelies like the above vintage bracelet "Hawaiian Honeymoon" at $32 from Lilys Vintage----- how can you not be enchanted?
Vintage------ dresses---- jewelry--- favors----decor---- papergoods---- there is nothing you can't source handmade online.
If you want to not only buy handmade but try to source locally (we LOVE the buy LOCAL HANDMADE) as well, online sources all have an option to search by your location! We urge you to always try that option first.
Then, ask around! Who knows a little shop that produces great stuff? We always ask our brides if they're on the hunt for something in particular to let us know, our list of contacts and sources is deep and we do love to help.
Other sources:
Most people know Etsy----- and it is a must visit.
but also try:
Art Fire a really great source for really fabulous pieces
Poppytalk  Handmade-  a monthly online street market curated by Poppytalk to showcase, buy and sell handmade goods of emerging design talent from around the world.
Zibbet- A great handmade marketplace

They all have their strengths and differences------- get out there and SHOP! Let us know which one you like!
